This versatile product will help people who’ve received food relief to create a delicious meal from the food they receive and minimise food waste.

MAGGI Hearty One Pot Casserole is a recipe base that turns almost any combination of protein and vegetables into a delicious meal for up to six people.

This Collaborative Supply Program brings together 11 suppliers who are collectively donating their resources and time to produce this bespoke food product for Foodbank and the charities we support.

From the global pandemic, to rising cost of living and natural disasters, these events have accelerated the issue of food insecurity for many, many Australians. Food relief is not only being sought out by those who are homeless and unemployed, but working families, refugees, single parents, school leavers, First Nations People and many more.

More than one in three Australians (38%) who were food insecure during the last year had never experienced food insecurity prior to the pandemic.

Nestlé General Manager of Foods, Kristina Czepl, said, “As Nestlé has worked with Foodbank for many years, we realise food relief often depends on what’s available – people can receive a mix of items and not necessarily know how to turn them into a nutritious meal.

“That’s an issue we wanted to help address. The idea of a recipe base that would make a great-tasting meal no matter what ingredients are on hand was born, and from this, we created the first-ever custom product for Foodbank.”
